Some Glimpses while exploring Jirang-Mahendragiri, Odisha. Beautiful craftsmanship and Amazing view. This trip was done in December, winter season of 2021. Cruising on Ghat section was really fun with Nissan Kicks. Since ever I got my red beast (Nissan Kicks), I have started enjoying more and more different places of India. Someone said "Destination is not important but the journey" and I mean it.
Jirang Trip:
This trip was planned 1 day before visiting Mahendragiri. Jirang is situated in Odisha district of Gajapati. JIRANG- The mini Tibet of India & The largest in Eastern India. Jirang is also known as Chandragiri. Khasada Waterfall is the most mesmerizing place here at a distance of 45 KMs from Jirang. Tibetan Bungalow- A very nice, well maintained and budget friendly guest house to stay here, which is being operated by Tibetan people. Phuntsokling Tibetan Settlement, Odisha (A departmental wing of Tibetan community)- This was established at earlier 1963 for the sake of Tibetan people. Padmasambhava Mahavihara Monastery (Buddhist Monastery)- The largest meditation place of Buddhist prayers in Eastern India. Mani Wheels- A prayer wheel which is being used in Tibetan community and the devotees do mediation with Mani wheels. Generally it is made from wood, metal, leather, stone and cotton. On the outside of wheel Mantra is written in Tibetan language.
This is one of the rarest and underrated place in Odisha. The place is very very peaceful in nature. I'm sure you'll love this place if you're planning to visit.
Cruising on Mahendragiri:
If you want to enjoy the Road trip to Mountain with in a Budget, then Mahendragiri should be in your bucket list. This mountain is a part of Eastern Ghat, situated in Gajapati district of Odisha. After Deomali in Koraput district, this is the 2nd highest mountain peak in Odisha with the elevation of 1,501 m (4,925 ft). Visiting this place in Winter is just a bliss. There is a history about this place that Panchu Pandava had worshiped Lord shiva. There is a temple here also which is said to be built by Pandavas.
